Phil Ivey has been branded as the best poker player on the globe by most of the top-ranked pros. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to Jersey before his first birthday. His grandpa introduced him to penny-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, Phil was hooked on poker and wished to learn anything he possibly could about poker. Phil routinely told his elders that he was going to be a professional poker player. He didn’t permit the adverse comments from other people annihilate his ambition of being one of the greatest poker competitors on the planet.
Phil began playing intently after getting a false ID with the name of Jerome. He sharpened his skills at the casinos in Atlantic City. The first few years for him were a teaching opportunity and coming away with a win was not a regular outcome at the time. He became known at the 2000 WSOP where he made two final tables and came away with his first WSOP bracelet, in a two dollar, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the closing table he destroyed a number of the better known pros including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
Phil made a decision to take his skills to the successive level and moved out west to Sin City. He continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players in the world. Phil credits his achievements to dedication and an undying love for the game of poker. He states that he’s learning every day and is quite humble about his accomplishments. Phil knows he makes errors every single session of poker and always strives to improve.
