Pai Gow Poker is a modern game with old ancestry. Built on the old Chinese tile game and the modern American version of poker, Pai Gow poker bands together the east with the western in an excellent game for new players.

Pai Gow is a poker game that puts the gambler against the dealer, unlike most other poker games that players play with other players. By playing against the dealer, new players do not have to fret about any other, more knowledgeable people taking their cash.

A further Pai Gow advantage is the generally slow game play, rookies can take their time and plan without needing to make quick choices.

It is also easier to enjoy for an extended time with just a small bit of money after all, to not win, each of your hands must be lower than each of the dealer’s hands.

Pai Gow is played with 53 cards; the customary 52-card common deck and one joker. The player is given seven cards faces showing and the house is given seven cards faces hidden.

A five card hand and one two card hand have to be made from the 7 cards dealt, the 5 card hand must be stronger than the 2 card hand. To succeed, a player needs both of his hand values to be better than the dealer’s.
