Internet High Stakes Poker- Who is Gus Hansen?

Gus Hansen enjoyed an amazing year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only one to make it to the closing poker table in three of the competitions. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he paid $400, 000 to play. You may recall one of the largest pots in high stakes poker recorded history up against Daniel Negreanu. He won a huge pot with 4 of a kind against Negreanu’s full house. Gus has earned many tv poker appearances and is considered to be one of the best bettors anywhere in the world. While betting on web poker, a different side of Hansen has been seen. Gus frequently competes in the 200/400 NL maximum buy-in of Forty Thousand dollars. Gus generally buys in for the min of Sixteen Thousand dollars and plays very poorly. He waits patiently for a decent hand and then goes all-in. I accept that Hansen is an amazing poker player but certainly not even close to the everyday players at 200/400no limit. Unless Gus is bankrupt, he has little or no reason to settle at the table with the minimum buy in.

Playing for the minimum takes almost all of the ability out of deep stack poker. Hansen is supposed to be one of the best players anywhere in the world but he can’t buy in for the total amt.. I think tv can alter our perception of the real world every now and then. The greatest players anywhere in the world might be guys you have will not have heard about. Gus can be found wagering on net poker on Full Tilt. He generally plays in high stakes omaha/8 and texas holdem. Gus Hansen has proven himself as a tournament player. Can he use his abilities in cash rounds?
